Balasore Mahila College observed a Vigilance Awareness Programme on 1st November 2025 to mark the occasion of Vigilance Awareness Week (27th October – 2nd November). The event aimed at promoting integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct among students and staff. The programme commenced with an oath-taking ceremony, where all teaching staff, non-teaching staff, and more than 150 students solemnly pledged not to indulge in any corrupt practices and to uphold honesty in every sphere of life.
The event was efficiently coordinated by the NSS Wing and YRC Wing of the college. Dr. Pujarani Parida, NSS Programme Officer, successfully hosted and supervised the entire programme, ensuring its smooth execution. The Principal, Dr. Umakant Nayak, addressed the gathering with an inspiring and insightful speech, emphasizing the importance of vigil
ance and moral integrity in building a corruption-free society. His words motivated the students to cultivate a strong value system.
The programme also featured heart-warming and thought-provoking speeches by Mr. Chittaranjan Santara, Lecturer in English, and Mr. Sushant Kumar Mandal, Lecturer in Economics both of whom highlighted the need for collective responsibility in eradicating corruption. Miss Rashmirekha Samantaray administered the oath to the students with dignity and composure, ensuring that every participant solemnly affirmed their commitment to honesty, integrity, and responsible conduct.
At the end, Miss Champabati Kisku, YRC Coordinator, delivered the Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, faculty members, and student volunteers for their active participation and support.
The active involvement of all departments, combined with the enthusiasm of the students, made the programme a meaningful and successful initiative towards spreading awareness about vigilance and integrity.
